ONTARIO ARTS COUNCIL

The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) is guided by the far-seeing mandate it was given in 1963 – to foster the creation and production of art for the benefit of all Ontarians. OAC offers more than fifty funding programs for Ontario-based artists and arts organizations, with funds from the Ontario government. Grants provide assistance for a specific activity, support for a period of time, or for ongoing operations. OAC also offers awards, prizes and scholarships from private funds managed by the Ontario Arts Foundation.

OTTAWA VALLEY QUILTERS GUILD

The Ottawa Valley Quilters’ Guild (OVQG) was started in 1981 by three quilters-Ann Bird, Joyce Legault and Isabel Johnston. Since that time, we have grown to a membership of 250. The purpose of the Guild is to share ideas and projects, and to foster the art of quilting.

OTTAWA WOODWORKING CLUB

The OWA focus is on woodworking in general. We discuss everything from seasonal wood movement and finishing techniques to table-saw tuning and shop safety. The membership consist of a mixture of hand-tool and power-tool enthusiasts, and those in between.

OTTAWA VALLEY WOODTURNERS

The Ottawa Valley Woodturners club can help you get started. We offer beginner training classes, mentoring programs and interesting demonstrations at our monthly meetings. WEST CARLETON ARTS SOCIETY

The aims of the WCAS are:

COMMON THREAD QUILT GUILD

The Common Thread Quilt Guild now boasts over 200 members, who come from all over the Ottawa/Hull area. We meet once a month at the MIFO Centre for our regular meeting, which always includes a show and tell, often a guest speaker, mini demos and more.

OTTAWA GUILD OF POTTERS

The Guild was formed in 1973 to create a fellowship of local potters to encourage their development and increase their skills as well as to foster an interest and appreciation of pottery in the Ottawa region. From that handful of founding potters, some of whom are still members, the Guild has grown to a thriving group of 150 members.

OTTAWA VALLEY WEAVERS AND SPINNER

The Ottawa Valley Weavers and Spinners Guild was formed in 1949 with the aim of drawing together individuals interested in fibre art and crafts, particularly weaving and spinning. We offer our members the opportunity to learn and grow with others who share their interests. The Guild currently has a membership of more than 140 paid and honorary members.
